In the morning, O LORD,
Thou wilt hear my voice;
In the morning I will order my prayer to Thee
and eagerly watch.

You know... I just love your coffee cup verses. I really find it astounding how my attitude is completely reflective of my time in God's word. I have had a rough few days lately with my daughter. It is such a battle of attitudes. She is a very "active" and very "talkative" toddler. It is hard to get a word in sometimes. And quite simply, I get selfish and want her to be perfect immediately, without all the hard work and time it takes to build bonds with her and be completely consistent with training and discipline. My hardest battle is keeping a cheerful attitude myself. Being in God's word daily is the only source that keeps me in check. I know that the battle these last few days is a reflection of my lack of time alone with God. I also know that I have to choose to set aside that time whatever it takes, no excuses. I also re-read an article in the book No Greater Joy (volume I) by Mike and Debi Pearl called "Attitude". Wow. That was like a kick in the pants. I know I have a long way to go to control my attitude. But, I am so thankful for God and His word. Without that I would be totally lost and just sunk in my own garbage. My daughter's attitude is a mirror of my own. And that can be very disappointing some days. I am praying for a much better week ahead.

Oh how I agree with you. Our attitude is often the biggest obstacle to walking in the Holy Spirit. It's because our attitude comes from our mind and our mind is the spiritual battleground.

Yes, that we would be filling our mind with the word, meditating on it, and then wielding the Word as a sword to defeat the enemy. I think that's the attitude adjustment method that leads to victory. If only I were more of a capable soldier in the battle.

I will pray for you and I ask that you pray for me too :)
