Time-saver Tip #1

We, as homemakers, are often known as multi-taskers. As such, I'd like to open a forum for time-saving tips. For example, here's something I learned from a magazine - I think at the doctor's office.

Time-saver Tip #1
While the kids are taking a bath, use the time to clean up the bathroom. I've found the steamy room makes the dirt easier to collect. Plus the time it takes me to clean the sink, mirror, toilet and floor is just about the time my boys are finished playing in the water. Then, all I have left to do is the tub once they're tucked in bed and I'm ready to check off one of my chores for the week.

Good tip. Thanx Marlene. I find that sometimes it's quite difficult to find time for the things that used to seem to take no time at all. We definitely need to use our time wisely. Tips like this help a lot.

Great Idea!
With things done in bite sizes, you can be confident that the whole house has gotten your attention through the month.
A way that I found helpful was to first list all of my household duties, then I put them into catagories: daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, seasonal.
After catagorizing my household tasks, I took a blank calendar and wrote 1-4 items for each day. It would look something like this:
Monday: Wash outside of Appliances, wash outside of cabinets, refill canisters. (Three chores done, all in the same room.- weekly chores)
Tuesday: dust living room, water plants, vacuum dining room and living room (this can be weekly or daily depending on traffic through house)
Wednesday: wash kitchen and utility floors (these two floors are connected in my house). This can be done after the kids are in bed. This is a weekly chore.

In the monthly catagory, take one day and write in for example: straighten and clean out the kitchen cupboards(wipe the shelves of those little crumbs that collect in them). You can actually do this throughout a day or schedule a cupboard a day, throughout a week. Done for the month!

I do the tip that you wrote and it works great. Also once a month I stick my feet into the bath water with the kids splashing around and soak them. The kids like to rub soap on them sometimes but than I take my feet out, dry them and give myself a pedicure.
